Course Development Template
Our course development template is meant to facilitate course design by taking into account all of the elements in this guide. It will lead you through a design process that aims to produce high quality courses.
Before moving to the next step, make sure you have taken the "Survey for Course Developers and Instructors."
Course Proposal Form
The first step for a new course is to fill out the Course Proposal Form (below). This will give the Wilmette Institute the basic information it needs to determine whether to move forward with the course or not. To fill out the Course Proposal Form:
Click on the link below which will open a view only Google Document.
Click "File" and "Make a Copy."
Name this copy as follows: Name of your proposed course - Proposal.
Fill in the form completely.
Share the document (with editing privileges) with Robert Stockman: rstockman@wilmetteinstitute.org
Course Development Template
If you are making improvements to an existing course, then do not fill in the Course Proposal Form, rather go directly to the Course Development Template.
Once Dr. Stockman approves the course, you will be instructed to fill out the Course Development Template. To do this:
Click on the link to the template below which will open a view only Google Document.
Click "File" and "Make a Copy."
Name this copy as follows: Name of your proposed course - Template.
Fill in the template.
Share the document (with editing privileges) with Robert Stockman: rstockman@wilmetteinstitute.org and Justin Scoggin jscoggin@wilmetteinstitute.org
Justin will work with the course developer on learning outcomes and methodology.
Later, Candice will comment directly in the document to ask for clarifications on format, style and other related elements. Agreement between WI and the course developer on a complete course development template indicates the course is ready to offer. Candace Hill will then put the course on Moodle.
For new courses: once your Course Proposal Form has been approved by Robert Stockman, you can begin working on the following template:
For existing courses, you do not have to fill in the Course Proposal Form, go directly to the Course Development Template.
