About Me

My name is Cat Monaco and I have been teaching second grade at Central since 2023! I previously taught 4th grade at Central as a maternity leave substitute and 1st and 3rd grade in St. Louis, MO. I grew up in Darien, IL and received my BA in English Literature at Texas A&M University and my Masters in Teaching at the University of Chicago. I worked in the nonprofit field in Birmingham, AL and Memphis, TN before transitioning to teaching.

I live in Roscoe Village with my husband and my dog, Remy.  I love to read, explore Chicago neighborhoods, work out at Orange Theory, and am currently training for the 2025 Chicago Marathon!
