Writing

Similar to reading, students will be participating in the Writer's Workshop during writing time, using Lucy Calkins units of study. Students will develop:

• Narrative Writing, "Crafting True Stories"

• The Art of Information Writing

• Changing the World: Persuasive Writing

• Once Upon a Time: Adapting Fairytales

Also in Room 27 students will be journal writing at least four days a week. These will be a wonderful tool to us to observe student growth as writers as they practice and develop their craft.
