In Unit 4: World Religions, students learn about three of the world's major religions, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Students will be instructed on the historical beginnings of these faiths and the beliefs that each are founded upon. They will get the opportunity to see the cultural influences of each faith and how it makes up our modern world!
***Disclaimer***
The North Dakota State Standards requires sixth grade teachers to teach Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Having an awareness of the major religions is instrumental in understanding how people live in the different regions around the world. In no way are we trying to impose any religious preferences. In learning the three religions, we will be covering religion origin, founder, beliefs, practices, name of holy books, and places of worship. Besides learning about the religions, we will be having important discussions of acceptance for cultural differences.
