In Unit 2: Ancient Mesopotamia, students are introduced to the first civilizations to be established in the world's history. This all occured in the Fertile Crescent founded in the Middle East (Modern-day Iraq and Iran). This is an exciting time in history as humans transition from hunter-gatherers and nomads to be farmers. This is where social classes are established, which sets the stage for order and government to takes place. Varieties of innovations like writing, architecture, and tools occur here and students will be given the opportunity to explore and understand these inventions more closely!
