Director - Ms. Halle Salmond
Ms. Halle Salmond has had the heart of a dancer since she was eight years old! Growing up spending most of her evenings and weekends at her home studio, Frances Lea Dance Center in Fort Worth,TX. There she learned all types of dance genres, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical and Clogging. She continued her dancing journey on her high school’s drill team, the award-winning North Crowley Silver Stars; where she performed and competed in group and solo routines, contributed in choreography and team morale, and served in both Social and Officer capacities, and Captain her senior year.
As a young adult at the University of Houston, Ms. Salmond continued her passion for dance by curating and participating in student-led dance groups, a member of the Dance Student Association, and joining Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, where she had the opportunity to choreograph and perform step and hip hop themed routines throughout Texas, Louisiana and Georgia for sorority representation and fundraising efforts.
Since graduating, Ms. Salmond has gone into education; where she has taught a variety of grade levels ranging from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. She loves the opportunity that teaching gives her to instill not only academic skills, but the lifelong skills that dancing provided her: creativity, accountability, discipline and confidence! Her previous positions include Former Director of Orange Pride Drill Team at York Junior High 2022 - 2024, Operations Manager and Drill Team Prep Teacher for In Step Dance Center and Contest Staff for Ascension Dance.
Ms. Salmond will be leading the Majestikats in their inaugural year and teaching 8th Grade Language Arts at Calfee Middle School for the 2025 - 2026 school year. She continues to love and educate herself about dance as she is a member of Texas Dance Educators Association, pursuing her Masters in Dance Studies through Texas Tech University, and avidly attends competitions and performances to support her former dancers! Because Once a Dancer, Always a Dancer!
