LAB Courses
Williamsville offers LAB courses in Geometry R and Algebra 2R. These are non-credit-bearing support classes designed to be taken alongside the associated "R" level course. These courses provide additional period of structured assistance during the school day to help students build confidence and develop the skills needed for success on the Regents Exam and in future math courses.
LAB courses offer students opportunities to review concepts taught in class, spend extra time exploring and reinforcing ideas, preview upcoming content, and strengthen foundational mathematical skills. This targeted support ensures students are better equipped to achieve their academic goals in mathematics.

At times, students may find themselves seeking frequent extra help in their math course. While this shows dedication and a desire to succeed, it can also be a sign that the current level of math might not be the best fit for their confidence and long-term growth.Finding the Right Fit: Ensuring Confidence and Success in Math
Our goal is for each student to be in a learning environment where they feel confident, capable, and supported in mastering the material. If a student is consistently struggling despite their efforts, it may be beneficial to consider enrolling in a LAB course (see above) or consider a different course level that aligns more closely with their skills and pace.
Making this adjustment can:
- reduce stress and frustration.
- build a stronger foundation for future math courses.
- boost overall confidence and enjoyment in learning mathematics.
