Spanish 1

This is a beginning and introduction to Spanish. Students will learn about Hispanic culture, basic vocabulary and phrases and grammar and conversational focus on the Spanish language.

Spanish 2

This course is a continuation of Spanish 1. This is an intermediate course focused on more extensive learning of vocabulary, verb tense and cultural awareness. This course takes the learning of Spanish further into conversational situations, proper use and understanding of communication.

Spanish 3

This course is a continuation of Spanish 1 and 2. This is an advance course where students will focus on speaking, reading and writing in Spanish. We dig deeper into understanding grammatical concepts and the proper usage of the Spanish language. Students will also study Hispanic/Latin cultures and customs.


AP SpANISH

AP stands for "Advanced Placement" which is the equivalent of a post high school course taught at a college or University. Passing this class with a "3" or higher will allow for college credit to the college or university that students choose to enroll and is also an important criteria to be qualified to earn the "California Seal of Biliteracy" which means that they are recognized by the state of California as someone who is proficient in both English and Spanish in this case. Great advantage for future job opportunities and community support.


Translator Pathway

The Translator Pathway program is an opportunity for students to learn valuable strategies and skill sets relative to their bilingual skills to become certified translators. The course will prepare students to challenge a nationwide proficiency course and exam which upon completion will give students recognition and certification as Translators. This certification will prove valuable in the employment opportunity world as translators in whichever professional discipline students would choose to specialize as a Translator.


Native Speakers

Spanish 1

This is a beginning and introduction course to Spanish speaking country's history, grammar and writing. Students will learn about Hispanic/Latin culture. Students will be able to develop their vocabulary and manipulate it in vernacular and professional settings.

Spanish 2

This course is a continuation of Spanish 1 for Native Speaker. In this course we will continue working on speaking, reading, writing and culture. The overall goal of this course is to prepare students for the AP Spanish Language and Culture course and make it tangible for them.
