Preschoolers Actively Working in School
Williams Bay School District established their Four Year Old Kindergarten Program in 2007
with a commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
A TYPICAL DAY IN 4K
"Play gives children the chance to practice what they are learning," Mr. Rogers.
Outdoor Play- Children start their day working on gross motor skills on the playground. They enjoy swinging, climbing, hopping, sliding, and running.
"Busy Bee" Time- Busy Bee Centers are small group, teacher led activities. These lessons focus on early math and literacy skills using hands-on activities. Parent volunteers are welcome to join us for small group work time.
Language Ars & Math- Theme based projects are created to teach kindergarten readiness skills.
Learning Centers- Centers vary throughout the year. During this free choice time, the children will learn through exploration and discovery. Students can choose to build, create art, engage in dramatic play, sand and water, nature and science. Center time helps children grow in their social skills as they navigate interactions with their new friends!
Storytime- Reading a story with milk and snack wraps up a wonderful day at school.
4K Family Outreach Days
We plan a variety of community outreach activities. These are a mix of activities in the community, opportunities to help out in the classroom, school concerts, guest readers, and many more events. Teachers will communicate the dates and details about the activities throughout the school year.
