Welcome!
My name is Casey Garmon and I am the high school math and computer science teacher at Marjorie Williams Academy; located in the small mountain town of Crossnore, North Carolina. I have taught math and computer science at Williams Academy since 2016; prior to that I worked for two years at Triad Math and Science Academy where I taught mathematics, computer science, and personal finance.
Background & Education:
I graduated in 2011 from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with a focus in Physics. While at Appalachian State I worked as a mathematics tutor, content creator, and assistant pre-calculus Instructor. I have experience working in Java, Javascript, Python, & Ruby as well as front-end web development. I also have experience with circuit design and development as well as programming microcontrollers.
Hobbies & Interests:
When I'm not teaching mathematics or computer science, I enjoy going on hikes, rock climbing, cooking, and playing music. I produce and master beats and tracks and also play guitar, bass, keys, drums, and trumpet.
