Students can participate in any traditional high school courses or activities offered at WCHS.
Transferable college courses and AP courses have the same weight in GPA calculation.
AP Exam must be passed to receive potential college credit. AP courses do not impact college GPA.

Application process for admittance to AP Academy
Students may withdraw from AP Academy without any negative impact on progress toward high school graduation.
A number of Career and College Promise (CCP) courses available to AP Academy students on WCHS campus
Students wishing to attend highly competitive private universities (example - Wake Forest, Duke, etc.) would be better served with AP coursework. These universities only accept coursework from four year colleges and universities.
Students begin taking college courses as freshmen; all high school courses at WECHS are honors level courses.
Students can earn 60+ credit hour associate's degree within 4-5 years - tuition free, textbooks included
Students enroll in classes as a cohort (high school and college) working together on success skills for high school and college
Students can participate in many of the traditional school activities offered at WCHS; limited high school elective courses, but have the opportunity to participate in college electives. Beginning junior year, students can participate in all WCC activities/clubs as well as high school activities/clubs.

College grade of "C" or higher is considered transferable to an in-state institution. Students transfer the course credit, not the grade to the institution.

Students must complete an application process for admittance to WECHS.
Students who complete the AA or AS at WECHS are guaranteed admission into one of the 16 UNC state institutions (as a freshmen or transfer student).
Students are eligible to participate in most degree programs at WCC.
