The Light of Understanding

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hello! This year my classes will be hosting Student-Led Conferences.  These conferences will occur on Thursday, October 16th 2-8 p.m. I would love to meet with you and encourage your attendance.  Conferences are an excellent opportunity to become acquainted and help support your son or daughter in their academic pursuits.

Student-Led Conferences give students a chance to take ownership of their education, develop communication and reflection skills, and share some of what they are learning in class with teachers and parents/guardians. I will be helping students prepare for this during class so that they are ready to discuss their performance with you and I during conferences. Of course, it won't just be the student talking, as you and I will still have the opportunity to discuss any issues and share feedback, but I am looking forward to implementing this practice. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have questions or concerns.
