WEEKLY Announcements

Welcome to Wild Arts 2022! We are excited to be working with Sherman Multicultural Arts School Boys and Girls Club CLC. In Week 1, we are getting to know each other and our three professional teaching artists: Tisiphani Mayfield (Dance), Wahya Imani (Visual Art), and Bella Zeimet (Theater). Here's a little about each teacher:

Ms. Tisiphani ("T") is the full-time dance teacher at Lincoln Center of the Arts MPS Middle School and a professional dancer/choreographer. She recently choreographed for Wild Space's "InSite: Dances for Washington Park." Her favorite color is purple.

Ms. Wahya is a visual artist and recent graduate of Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD). As a student at Lincoln, she participated in Wild Arts, and then interned for Wild Arts in high school. This is her second year teaching with Wild Arts. Her favorite color is lavender.

Ms. Bella is a professional player at Comedy Sportz and a musical theater major at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM). This is her second year teaching with Wild Arts. Her favorite colors are pink, lavender, and blue.

Our theme this summer is "Extraordinary Artists: Gather. Make. Share." This is inspired by our exciting field trip sites:

Clinton Rose Serving Older Adults (SOA) Site (Wednesday, July 6th and Tuesday, July 12th) - We'll get to know the older adults at Clinton Rose and share some art-making with them!

Milwaukee Art Museum (Wednesday, July 13th) - We'll take a special tour of MAM focusing on social justice and art, and get to see African American artist Derrick Adams' multimedia wall mural and sculptural installation, "Our Time Together," celebrating the rituals of everyday Black life and leisure.

We'll "Gather. Make. Share" every day, and close out our time together with a Performance & Exhibition for friends and family on Thursday, July 28th (time TBD, but most likely 11am-12pm).
