The New York Times - Considered by many the preeminent newspaper in the world. Excellent long form and informational pieces. Article Limit
NYT Room for Debate - Editorial section where multiple perspectives on a singular issue are presented.
NYT Advanced Search Page - Use for defining era and region.
The Guardian - News source based in the UK. Excellent international coverage. Mix of long form and informational pieces. Free
BBC - The main outlet of news for the UK and the former Commonwealth nations. Free
The Wall Street Journal - Preeminent conservative newspaper in the United States. Excellent opinion pages for a conservative position. Paywall
Longform - A compilation of the best longform reporting the internet has to offer. Does NOT have everything, but try your luck. Free
Al Jazeera - The most popular news outlet in the Arab world. Fantastic reporting from an alternate perspective. Free
The Atlantic - Longform reporting and investigation about a variety of social and political issues. Article Limit
Mother Jones - Fantastic long-form pieces. Very liberal. Free
Washington Post - Similar to the NYT in almost all respects, another wonderful source. Paywall
NPR - Both print reporting and podcast/radio investigations of social/political topics. Free
AP - Catchall news source - quality reporting. Free
JSTOR - Database of academic journal articles. School Account - Username: Wima, Password: worldschool
Council on Foreign Relations - Think Tank. As the name suggests, this organization is dedicated to the study of international affairs. This is an excellent place to start when investigating a Case from the course. Free
Foreign Affairs - Excellent journalism and coverage of international relations. Paywall
Foreign Policy - Solid coverage of global events and international relations. Free
Chatham House - Think Tank. UK centric coverage of international relations. Free
Brookings - Think Tank. Coverage of World and US political events. Free
Intelligence Squared - Debates on a wide variety of international issues. For each individual debate, there are four experts engaged in argument. Please use the accompanying transcripts of the debates for citation purposed. Free
Pod Save the World - A highly engaging podcast on foreign policy (from an American, Liberal perspective). Free
Each link below will open a folder of longer books/articles relevant to that unit's theory/content. Pay special attention the 'readers' within each folder. These 'reader' sources are compilations of shorter journal articles on a variety of sources.
