Girls Go CyberStart – Girls Go CyberStart is a national program aimed at encouraging high school girls to explore careers in cybersecurity. The program offers hands-on, interactive challenges and competitions to test the skills of participants in areas such as cryptography, digital forensics, and web security.
Pi Cafe – Pi Café is a community of Raspberry Pi enthusiasts, at any level, who would like to get more involved with cyber through fun learning modules and activities.
CyberStart America – CyberStart America is a national cybersecurity competition for high school students in the United States. It is designed to encourage students to explore careers in cybersecurity and provide them with hands-on experience in the field. Participants work through a series of challenges and competitions to test their skills in areas such as cryptography, digital forensics, and web security.
PicoCTF – Capture the Flag (generally abbreviated CTF, a competition with cybersecurity challenges) event which is targeted towards high school and middle school students. There is a spring competition coming up, but they also have a bunch of practice challenges. We recommend starting with challenges that are only worth 10-30 points and progress from there. It’s common to have to do some googling/searching when solving challenges, and learning new things along the way, so don’t be discouraged!
Microcorruption – Reverse engineering challenges, Moderately challenging, fun and rewarding when you are ready to dig in to a bit of assembly language.
Mitre Att&ck Framework – MITRE ATT&CK® is a globally-accessible knowledge base of adversary tactics and techniques based on real-world observations.
Compiler Explorer – A great resource showing how source code translates into various different assembly languages (x86, ARM, etc.). Don’t worry if it takes time to understand how things work.
Over the Wire – More fun challenges to try. We recommend starting with Bandit or Krypton.
CyberChef – A useful online utility for converting data between different formats, such as base64, hex, ascii, etc. and doing various cryptographic operations.
LiveOverflow – LiveOverflow has a ton of great tutorials on binary exploitation. You can also search for LiveOverflow on Youtube.
CryptoPals – Cryptography challenges that involve some programming and might be really fun if you like math.
Advent of Code – Fun programming challenges, if you like that sort of thing (we do).
Hack the Box – More challenging, but more realistic than many CTFs. Hack the Box challenges are generally pretty difficult and take considerable time to solve. They are fun and you'll learn a lot!
GirlCon – GirlCon is a conference focused on empowering and supporting girls and women in various fields, such as technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and activism.
TraceLabs – TraceLabs is a nonprofit organization focused on crowdsourced open-source intelligence (OSINT) and missing persons investigations. The organization hosts events, known as "OSINT Capture the Flag (CTF) contests," where participants use their OSINT skills to gather information on real missing persons cases.
