Who We Are

WiCyS Germany is the premier professional affiliate of Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) Global within the Federal Republic of Germany. We are a community of women, non-binary professionals, and allies—ranging from students and career-changers to CISOs and researchers—dedicated to securing the digital future.

While cybersecurity is a global challenge, we believe the solutions are built locally. Our affiliate serves as the bridge between the world’s largest community for women in security and the unique technical, legal, and industrial landscape of Germany.

Our Story

The WiCyS movement began in 2013 to address a simple but critical problem: the massive underrepresentation of women in a field vital to our society. Today, that movement has grown into a global powerhouse with over 10,000 members across 100+ countries.

WiCyS Germany was established to bring this energy home. We recognize that Germany’s "Mittelstand," its strict data privacy standards (GDPR), and the recent NIS2 regulations require a dedicated, local network. We are here to ensure that German-based talent has a seat at the global table.

What We Do

We don't just talk about diversity; we build the infrastructure for it through:

• Regional Networking: From Hamburg to Munich, we host local Stammtische and technical meetups to break down professional silos.

• Knowledge Transfer: We offer workshops on the latest in GRC, Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, and the specific regulatory needs of the DACH region.

• Mentorship: Connecting aspiring talent with seasoned "Cyber Champions" in German industry and academia.

• Career Pathways: Partnering with German tech firms to provide our members with exclusive job opportunities and visibility.
