WiCyS Sri Lanka Affiliate Launches Its Journey with the Community Kickoff Event

The WiCyS Sri Lanka Affiliate marked the beginning of its journey with the successful Community Kickoff Event held online on the 19th of December 2026, bringing together members of the cybersecurity community to introduce the affiliate’s vision, mission and future initiatives.

The event served as the first official gathering of the community, welcoming cybersecurity professionals, students and enthusiasts who share a common goal of strengthening collaboration and knowledge sharing within the industry. It provided an opportunity for participants to connect with one another, learn about the objectives of the WiCyS Sri Lanka Affiliate and explore ways to actively engage in upcoming programs and initiatives.

During the session, the organizing team shared the affiliate’s commitment to building a supportive and inclusive community that encourages learning, mentorship and professional growth in the cybersecurity field. Participants were also introduced to the planned activities of the community, like engagement segments to share ideas.

The Community Kickoff Event set the foundation for what promises to be an active and impactful community, dedicated to empowering cybersecurity professionals and aspiring talent across Sri Lanka.
