At Thrybergh Primary School, we believe that all children and young people are entitled to an education that enables them to make progress in order to develop their social, cognitive, cultural, emotional and physical skills to achieve their best and become confident individuals in an ever-changing society.
Our staff have high expectations of all students, providing appropriate learning and teaching experiences within a positive pastoral framework. We aim to support students by nurturing an ethos of high aspirations, confidence and fostering in them the desire to achieve.

We have bought some additional resources to support our SEND readers and writers this term.
Talking Tin Lids help when a child finds it hard to hold the sentence they want to write in thir mind, because it can record 20 seconds of speech. The child can then play it back to help them check they have written everything down.
Before you can read, you need to be able to belnd sounds together into words. For some children, this can be really tricky to start with, especially if they are prone to ear infections. We have bought some Whisper Phones, which take the sounds the children say straight to their ear, so they can tune in and catch the sounds to blend them.
With Me in Mind
On Tuesday 14th January, With Me in Mind will be putting on an Anxiety Workshop for parents, with a particular focus on how to support your child to say goodbye in a morning without tears.
I know we still have quite a few families where this can leave parents feeling worried about their little one. If you would like to attend, please contact the office to put your name down. If there are any other mental health related workshops that you think would help you, please contact Mrs Levesley.
Interventions
We have been working hard at our interventions in school this term. Our Speech and Language Therapist, Luisa, has been checking up on the progress children have made since September and some children have progressed so much, they don't need to be on our SEND register now.
Children in the Foundation Stage use an intervention calling 'Talking Tables' and this has brought on their speech already.
In the Autumn Term, Mrs Levesley, our SENDCo, held four annual reviews for children with EHCPs, along with more than 40 SEND review meetings with class teachers and families.
Mrs Levesley has also consulted with 'With Me In Mind' for 4 families, with another 4 due in the early Spring.
