The team have been super busy, and here's some of the highlights:

Lots of inclusive sporting opportunities with Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) and throughout Rotherham
Ashwood Mental Health Ambassadors have been working closely with the With Me in Mind Team to support our school community
World Book Day celebrations
Further SEN reviews to ensure all our children have the 'plan, do, review' cycle.
We can't wait to see what Summer term brings!

Easter Celebrations 🐣
Congratulations and well done to all the children who particpated in the Easter Bonnet and Easter Egg decorating competition. It's always enjoyable to watch the creativity of our children flourish.
WORLD BOOK DAY 📖
We really enjoyed World Book Day. Coming to school in pyjamas is always a good day. The best part of the day was, Stop, Drop and Read. When the bell rang, no matter what we were doing or learning we had to simply stop drop and read. Even our youngest children in school took part demonstrating regardless of you reading age and level sharing a story together is always enjoyable.
The children have been working with the With Me in Mind team as part of Children's mental health week.
Our mental health ambassadors set up workshop activities to support having positive mental health and wellbeing.
They got lots of children in school to join in activities, thinking about emotions and how we can handle these. They used the Inside Out 2 characters to help to discuss emotions and completed arts and crafts activities and games.
It's important to ensure all our children have the opportunity to shine. Opportunites linked to Physical Education often give many of our children this opportunity.
Y3 and Y4 represented Rotherham at the English Institute of Sports. They tried a range of inclusive sport activities and were so resilient.
Y5 and Y6 represented school as part of the Let Girls Play initiative. They learnt rugby skills as part of school sports games.
Y3 girls took part in the Let Girls Play initiative and were invited to Wath Academy to develop their football skills. The children worked really hard on developing team work skills, along side children from other schools.
This term our Year 4 children took part in swimming lessons.
This was a bg achievement for many of our children some of which had limited experience of going swimming and managing so many independent skills on their own.
We have seen huge progress for all our children not only in their swimming skills, but also in their confidence.
SEN drops have continued with a special guest joinging us for the latest drop in, Alex Gill our Specialist Inclusion Teacher.
This was a lovely informal opportuntiy for parents to chat with Alex and for him to give advice and share resources there and then with ways to support children at home and in school. Alex regularly pops into school to work with children individually, small groups and whole class, offering the teachers advice and guidance on strategies to support our chidlren further.
The next drop in will be Wednesday 7th May at 2:30pm
All Spring term reviews have been complete.
Watch this space for Summer Term reviews these revews this term will also include transition discussions and actioning planning for next steps.
