Our Business Pathways students had an amazing time at the CAP Career Event sponsored by Masshire! They explored the career fair, connected with a variety of businesses, and gained valuable insight into different career paths. Students also attended two dynamic seminars — one on networking and the other on personal branding — both packed with tips and takeaways for their futures. Huge thank you to MassHire for hosting such an engaging and inspiring event!
Incredible Experience at Koch Cancer Institute! Our Healthcare students had an unforgettable trip to the Koch Cancer Institute at MIT, where they explored the world of cancer research!
✅ Toured the gallery & learned how cancer cells grow and spread
✅ Conducted an experiment on how chemotherapy affects cells
✅ Met with a cancer research scientist and asked amazing questions!
This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of oncology and inspired them to think about the future of medicine.
Our business students had an amazing opportunity to visit Bentley University today! 🏛️📊 Bentley, one of the top business schools in the country, gave us an inside look at their classrooms, dorms, and cutting-edge trading and technology labs.
A little rain couldn’t dampen our excitement—we had a fantastic experience exploring campus and learning more about what Bentley has to offer.

We had the chance to attend the DECA field trip, an amazing competition that challenges students in business! Our Business Pathways students represented us so well, with a few even ranking high enough to head to states! Huge shoutout to Mr. DeSantes and Mrs. Martin for being incredible advisors! Good luck to everyone heading to states!
Our healthcare pathway students recently had the incredible opportunity to visit Bridgewater State University's City Lab for an interactive science experiment, where they learned how to use essential lab equipment. This hands-on experience gave our new students a deeper understanding of the tools and techniques they'll encounter in their future healthcare careers. A huge thank you to the science department for organizing such a valuable learning opportunity
We had the annual Whitman Hanson Career Fair! We had 40 participants representing careers in all major categories; Arts/Media, Business, Health Science, Human Services, Protective Services, STEM, and Trades. We also had about 250 students signed up to attend the fair, and that included all our Panther Pathways Students from Business and Healthcare. I hope the students were able to get a lot out of hearing from these industry professionals. Also, I wanted to make a special shout out and thank you to Mr. Casey’s photography students for taking amazing photos of the event and school counseling for all their help!
For our Business students, we invited all of them to a college visit from one of the best business schools in the country, Bentley University. It was an engaging presentation and provided all of them tons of important information they would need if this a career route they wish to take when they are finished with high school.
WH had our first college visit of the year from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. With the newly instated WIN Block at the end of every day, School Counseling is inviting colleges to do college visits to talk about admissions and their amazing programs. Our Healthcare students were invited to this first meeting in an effort to give them options if they choose the college route post-high school.
On our final field trip of the year, we were able to combine both Healthcare and Business Pathways on a day to attend the Masshire Career Connections Fair. First, they attended “If Money Were a Person” workshop. It focused on the importance of money and management. How can money help them towards their goals. Next they got the opportunity to walk their career fair and see so many types of careers and ask any questions they may have. Finally, we had one more breakout session, “Good Communication: How Important is it?” The idea of this session to talk about how they use communication and its forms and what importance it can bring to their life. They did an amazing job at the event!
Our Healthcare Students got a look into the career of Physical Therapy from two therapists currently working at Bay State Physical Therapy. They gave our students incredible insight into the career, both coming from very different pathways to the career. The students asked a multitude of amazing questions and their final piece of advice was to study in their science classes and always shadow the field you're interested in to see if it's for you. I'd like to make a huge shoutout to Lisa and Curtis for your wonderful presentation.
Our Business students got a chance to visit the Patriots Hall of Fame through this amazing program offered through Gillete in their education programing. The experience our students took on was the Marketing in the Hall. They were provided a marketing question and then created a proposal that morning to present to a marketing employee and be evaluated on their strategies and skills. He seemed wildly impressed with their knowledge, saying many of the things they brought up was terminology and methods he didn’t encounter until college. All this is thanks to their amazing teacher Mr. DeSantes!
Our Healthcare students got the opportunity to visit Quincy College, the Plymouth Campus! They got a chance to learn about the college paths offered, sat in on college courses, taught a lesson in the physical therapy lab, and got a demonstration on the syndaver. We ended the visit touring their amazing nursing simulation lab. A special thank you to Ms. Folan for joining us on the trip and thank you to Quincy College for hosting us!
I had the opportunity to join the DECA club on their field trip to the Cape for their District Competition. I didn’t know what to expect, but the event was incredible. I can’t even imagine the work that must go into a competition of that caliber. A major shout out to Mr. DeSantas and Ms. Martin for all their hard work as advisors. There were four Business Pathways students in the group attending and there were two that were recognized for doing so well in their categories. Ben was in the top eight of his category, Principles of Finance, as a Freshman and Brett, sophomore, got in the top eight for his category and also won first place for Blue Roleplay in Sports and Entertainment. The students did amazing and the event was an amazing experience to be a part of!
We got the privilege to have three speakers from Signature Healthcare. I was on the DECA field trip the day of, but a special thank you to Ms. Dauksevicz for covering the class, so we didn’t have to reschedule. We had Kate MacKinnon- Director of Emergency Services (an RN), Debra Sturge- Nurse Manager- Telemetry Department (an RN), and Jasmine LaFleur- Director of Staff Education (an RN). The students got a lot of insight on careers within the medical field that have a more administrative role in a hospital.

Tom invited a former student, Nate O'Brien, to speak to our business pathways students. He is a 2021 graduate studying pre-law at Georgetown University in DC. He talked to the students about business law and its value. He also gave them insight of the subjects they can look forward to in future classes and then information he found most valuable. He did an amazing job!
Our Healthcare students got the opportunity to hear from Lindsay Ralston, a trauma and intensive care nurse. She was able to give them first hand-accounts of what a day in the life of a nurse consists of and even brought a recent story she was involved with. A few months ago, a nurse was walking her dog in Dorchester and was struck by lightning. They watched a news report of the patient’s recovery and Lindsay answered any questions they had regarding the care for patients. They walked away with tons of information and insight!
We got the privilege to visit Medway High School and see what their Pathways Program was like. We learned so much about their internship and capstone project and got the chance to hear from their capstone students on what they were working on for their projects. They are in a rural area, so they told us some of the creative ways they have to get internships, which is great to have as our students progress to seniors in a few years. Medway also had an additional Pathway or Information Technology, which was exciting to see what that Pathways consists of. It was incredibly informative and I definitely left with quite a few pages of notes to type up.
Our Healthcare students got a speaker this week from the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families. Holly is an investigator and social worker who has been employed with DCF for twenty plus years. She gave students an honest look into what it’s like to work in her career and the students asked some very insightful questions. It was a great opportunity to let the students see a career they didn’t know much information about!
The Business Pathways students had a speaker visit the classroom! Daryl Slater came to speak to the Business Pathways students about branding, demographics, networking, influencers, and so much more! It was a great presentation and some students even walked away with their own Kryptonite Lock bike light for getting trivia questions correct.
Our Healthcare students got the opportunity to visit Bridgewater State CityLab! This was such a great trip and the students got a chance to learn how to use and measure with science equipment. After their training, they were put to the test to try their hand at an experiment! A big thanks to Theresa Scott and Kim McCoy for putting this trip together and including our Pathway’s students!
We had Hanson Fire come visit our Healthcare students as their first speaker of the year. We appreciate everything they showed our students, it was a very informative and interactive hands-on experience. Thank you so much to Lieutenant Malley and Lieutenant Bryant for taking the time to meet our students, they loved it!
Some of the staff members got the opportunity to visit Bourne High School and see their established Pathways program. They were beyond welcoming and we walked away with some invaluable insight into a school that’s moving on to their second year in the program. We also left with a need to get ourselves our own ambulance simulator like they have.
