Raising awareness of climate change, sustainability, and environmentalism in education.
Since 2020 Alderman White has dedicated the month of November to raising the awareness of environmental issues amongst pupils and staff in school and the wider White Hills Park Trust. This has included sharing the latest news and updates on the climate emergency, spotlighting areas of sustainability, and highlighting success stories in improving biodiversity. The Environmental Ambassadors group has also been actively involved in putting these ideas into practice and promoting positive environmental behaviours.

As a Science Teacher I've always enjoyed teaching about environmental processes but more and more I feel the moral obligation to raise awareness of the Climate Crisis and to inspire the next generation to continue the fight for climate justice. In my role as Outdoor Education Lead I also want my pupils to experience the benefits of spending time in outdoors and understanding the vital link between us and the natural world.
