Josh Peak has been writing plays for the past four years, many have come to life in our Conard High School Black Box as part of our annual Ten Minute Play Festival. He has a knack for comedy that lands with audiences of all ages, especially Gen Z. A fan of murder mysteries, he has written many others, one set in a teachers lounge and another in a nursing home. When Conard was invited to the #edfringe as part of the #AHSTF, he decided to create a whodunnit set at a theater camp. The process of writing and revising this play alongside his longtime Director and Producer Hunter Parker has been rewarding, and he has enjoyed working with his peers and also performing alongside them in the ensemble. Josh is incredibly grateful to have his play performed on the international stage at the #edfringe! He'd like to thank the cast, crew, audience, and his family for their support. Josh recently graduated from Conard High School in West Hartford, CT, USA and will attend Roger Williams University in the fall, where he plans to minor in theater.
Hunter Parker is the Theatre Director and Teacher at Conard High School in West Hartford, CT, USA. As a director, producer, and actress, she has worked up and down the east coast, including NYC - she is proud to make her international directing debut at the Edinburgh Fringe with her amazing students! Some favorite Conard directing credits include Puffs, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Eurydice, You Can’t Take it With You, Our Town (Halo Award - Best Classical Play), The Tempest (Halo Award - Best Classical Play), Disaster!, Les Misérables, Disney’s Frozen (The United States of Frozen Contest Winner) and Footloose (Sondheim Award for Best Direction). Recent professional directing credits include The Last Five Years, Next to Normal and Doubt (Best Director finalist, BroadwayWorld CT) at Chestnut Street Playhouse. She’s proud of her dedicated students, many of whom are recognized with regional, state, and national awards for their roles, including a recent Jimmy Awards finalist. She would like to thank everyone for supporting the arts, especially for young people at home and abroad.
