Hi LE Students, welcome to the Makerspace!
This week's Makerspace project is to build a percussion instrument, a rattle or shaker, out of materials you have at your house!
Look around for containers that you could turn into a rattle. This could be a small box or plastic container or something from the recycling like a cardboard toilet paper tube.
Now look for something to put in the container like rice, popcorn kernels and seeds or non-food items like beads, buttons, rocks or sticks. Experiment with putting different materials into containers, how does the sound vary?
When you are happy with the sounds your container makes seal it up with tape and glue and decorate! You can paint, color or collage all over the container.
Most importantly have fun!
If you want to take a photo when you're finished please email it to me or attach it to the assignment.
See you soon! Megan
