The Texas Education Agency awards an accreditation status to each public school district and charter school. In assigning an accreditation, TEA considers:
Academic accountability ratings
Financial accountability ratings
Data integrity
Program areas deficiencies identified through Results Driven Accountability (RDA)
A district or charter must be accredited by the state to operate as a public school. TEA generally assigns one of four statuses to each district in the state:
Accredited
Accredited-Warned
Accredited-Probation
Not Accredited-Revoked
Whitney ISD's 2024-25 Accreditation Status is: ACCREDITED
Accreditation statuses are posted publicly to the TEA website on the Accreditation Status homepage.
