CRITERIA
Student Athletic Nominee Criteria:
The nominee must be an alumnus of Whitnall High School.
The nominee must have graduated a minimum of 5 years prior.
The nominee must have earned a minimum of one varsity letter.
Individual accomplishments within a sport are valued (e.g., All-Conference selection, All-State selection, state championships, state records, and school records).
Contributions made to the success of a team are valued (e.g., team state championship, team conference championship, team record).
Having individual and team success in multiple sports is valued.
Moral character, academic performance, and good citizenship during high school and post high school shall be a consideration.
Although athletic achievement while attending Whitnall High School is of prime importance, outstanding accomplishments after leaving Whitnall High School will also be considered.
No member of the committee will be eligible for induction while serving on the committee.
Letters of recommendation - 2 (min) from non family members are required
Coaching Nominee Criteria:
The coach must have been or currently is a contracted coach at Whitnall High School.
Excellence in coaching is valued (e.g., record, conference championships, state competitions, team state championships, individuals coached who earned state championships, etc.).
Contributions to the positive development of students are important.
Demonstration of good character and citizenship are valued.
Coaching responsibilities extending over a long period of time and in multiple sports at 9th grade, JV, or Varsity are valued.
Contributions to the Whitnall community, the conference, the coach’s state association, and the WIAA are valued.
Letters of recommendation - 2 (min) from non family members are required.
Distinguished Service Nominee Criteria:
Any individual who has made significant contributions to Whitnall High School athletics in roles other than participation in or coaching a sport.
If given to a school district employee, the person cannot be currently employed by the Whitnall School District.
If given to a non-school district employee, the person may still be a current contributor to Whitnall athletics.
Longevity of contributions over time is valued. (Contribution of time, energy, and financial support will receive consideration.)
Modeling of sportsmanship and dedication, while inspiring similar traits in others, is valued.
Projects that have made an impact on Whitnall High School athletics are valued.
