Google Classroom can be opened as soon as a student logs into a Chromebook. The student should click on the green chalkboard looking icon (#6) in the task bar (shelf). A login is not required because the student logged into the Chromebook and the Chromebook and Google Classroom are both part of the Google for Education software.
HOW TO LOG INTO GOOGLE Classroom ON a home laptop or computer
Steps for logging into Google Classroom on a personal computer:
The student should open the Chrome browser for best results and access to all features.
2. Enter classroom.google.com in the address bar or Google Classroom in a Google search.
3. Enter their full username.
4. Enter the same exact password used to login to a Chromebook.

CAN PARENTS LOG INTO GOOGLE CLASSROOM?
Google Classroom can only be accessed using a student log in and password. Guest or parent access logins are not available. The best way to view Google Classroom is over your child's shoulder. More information on that ahead!
Some teachers invite parents to turn on emails called Parent Guardian Summaries. These summaries show the parent or guardian what announcements have posted recently in Google Classroom, upcoming work, and the name of assignments that are missing. They do not give parents access to the actual assignments. When invited, the parent chooses between weekly or daily emails. Emails only arrive M-F. The summary is in pdf format. Here is an example:
