Google Classroom can be opened as soon as a student logs into a Chromebook. The student should click on the green chalkboard looking icon (#6) in the task bar (shelf). A login is not required because the student logged into the Chromebook and the Chromebook and Google Classroom are both part of the Google for Education software.

Google Classroom can only be accessed using a student log in and password. Guest or parent access logins are not available. The best way to view Google Classroom is over your child's shoulder. More information on that ahead!

These summaries show the parent or guardian what announcements have posted recently in Google Classroom, upcoming work, and the name of assignments that are missing. They do not give parents access to the actual assignments. When invited, the parent chooses between weekly or daily emails. Emails only arrive M-F. The summary is in pdf format. Here is an example:
