Whitehall District Schools operates the PowerSchool platform (accessible at https://ps-wh.muskegonisd.org/public/home.html). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you authenticate and connect your Google account to our application.

1. Information We Collect via Google OAuth

When you grant our application access to your Google account, we collect and process specific data based on the permissions (scopes) you approve. This may include:

·         Basic Profile Information: Your name, email address, profile picture, and Google unique identifier (OpenID, profile, email scopes).

·         Classroom Data: Class rosters, course names, and assignment details to sync your school courses (classroom.courses.readonly, etc.).

·         Drive/Calendar Data: Document access or calendar events explicitly selected to facilitate school assignments (drive.File, calendar.Events).

We only request scopes that are strictly necessary to provide our application's educational features.

2. How We Use Google User Data

We use the information retrieved from Google APIs solely to provide and improve the features of PowerSchool Specifically, this data is used to:

·         Authenticate your identity and securely log you into the school portal.

·         Display your relevant school schedules, classrooms, or educational materials.

·         Synchronize school assignments and files as requested by the user.

3. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance (Limited Use)

Our application's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

·         No Human Access: No human beings at our organization will read your Google user data unless we have your explicit agreement for specific items (e.g., tech support).

·         No Advertising: We will never use or transfer your Google user data for serving advertisements, retargeting, or profiling.

·         No Transfers: We do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties unless it is necessary to provide or improve our app's core educational features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger/acquisition.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain Google user data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with school services.

·         Users can revoke our application's access to their Google account at any time via the Google Security Settings page.
