FINES AND OVERDUE MATERIALS:
Whitehall High School Library believes in free and equal access for all. Eliminating overdue fines is paramount to providing equitable access for all students.
Books that are checked out can be kept for 28 days. If the book is not returned, after the 28th day the cost of the book will become the students fine.
While there are no daily fines, after the 28th day your book will be marked as LOST and your fine will become the replacement fees for the book. If you bring the book back that fine will be removed.
MONTHLY notices for overdue materials are distributed to teachers and emailed to the student's school email account.
Any outstanding obligations remaining at the end of each semester is submitted to administration and may impact release of records and participation in graduation.
Students should make a habit of always returning items on or before the due date. It’s not just the right thing to do, it’s how libraries work. There is still a consequence for not returning an item.
