SAP Monitoring - A member of the SAP team will monitor the progress of a designated student. Ongoing monitoring of attendance, academic performance and behavior may result in a referral for additional services if deemed necessary.
Mid Atlantic Rehabilitation Services - Whitehall Coplay Middle School works in partnership with M.A.R.S., a behavioral health treatment agency, to provide comprehensive behavioral health assessments aimed at identifying barriers to learning and healthy functioning. The assessment is essentially an interview that targets potential areas of need for additional support. If it is determined that additional support is needed, a parent/guardian will be contacted to determine next steps. Groups are also offered through MARS.
CHC Mentoring - Voluntary mentoring program that helps children build the skills they need to succeed now and in the future. Students meet regularly with an adult mentor in small groups and/or one-on-one meetings. This program is run by the Center for Humanistic Change.
Communities in Schools - Services provided by CIS include supportive guidance/counseling, educational support, tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment activities. Students meet with our provider during the school day to work on goal setting and attaining those goals.
Valley Youth House school based counseling - In order to help address the mental health needs of students, Valley Youth House can provide counseling services. These services are provided by a Valley Youth House social worker, and offered in school during school hours. No insurance is needed.
LVHN School Based Mental Health Counseling - School based counseling through Lehigh Valley Health and runs through family insurance.
Life Skills Groups - Small groups are offered by a variety of providers on a rotating basis. Past topics include: life skills, grief, emotional regulation, and positive relationships, executive functioning, self-esteem. Please contact your student’s counselor for more information about current offerings.
English Language Learners Support Group - A group facilitated by a bilingual counselor, specifically targeting students whose first language is Spanish. The curriculum is customized to the specific needs of the students and assists students in accessing resources.
PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports - PBIS is designed to teach students appropriate behavior and give them the support to sustain that behavior. Behaviors include, increased academic performance and safety and decreased problem behavior. Students can access PBIS rewards through Clever.
