Gockley Elementary Library Media Center Information and Policies:

• Our students come to Library once in a five day cycle for a lesson and to exchange books.
• Students will be checking out ONE book on their Library day.
• Books are due back the next week on your child's scheduled library day.
• No other books may be borrowed if your child has a late book.
• In our library we do not charge fines for late books. However, we do charge for book damages, which may include replacing the book. If the book is lost, we charge the cost to replace the book.
• If a book is lost or damaged, a fee will be charged and the student may not check out another book until the fee has been paid. Most of our books have special reinforced bindings which can make the books costly to replace.
• All fines should be paid in CASH please.

• All year please carry and store your book in the special plastic bag that will be sent home with your child for their first book selection.
• Keep books clean; wash hands before touching and please do not eat or drink near library books
• Keep books in a safe place away from pets, foods, and liquids; use special care around babies.
• Turn pages carefully from the corner and use a bookmark to mark your place.
• Never write, draw, glue, or color in a book.
