This term, our teaching of reading will be based on the texts 'Pig Heart Boy' by Mallorie Blackman and 'All aboard the Empire Windrush' by Jillian Powell
Children will bring a library book home each week to read for pleasure. In addition, children can access books on Curriculum Visions and Reading Plus
Writing
This term, our teaching of writing will be based on the texts 'King Kong' by Anthony Browne and 'Wolves in the wall' by Neil Gaiman. Children will write a suspense narrative and a balanced argument.
Introduction to spreadsheets
This unit introduces the learners to spreadsheets. They will:
Organise data into columns and rows to create their own data set.
Learn the importance of formatting data to support calculations, while also being introduced to formulas
Be taught how to apply formulas that include a range of cells, and apply formulas to multiple cells by duplicating them.
Use spreadsheets to plan an event and answer questions.
Create charts, and evaluate their results in comparison to questions asked
Online safety - Online Reputation:
Children will consider:

will allow other people to form and opinion of me?
Describe simple ways to build a positive online

Explain strategies to protect a ‘digital personality.’
The focus for JIGSAW this half term is being and keeping safe and healthy.
Will will learn about:
