We are reading Into the Forest to help with writing a narrative and a newspaper report.
In CUSP Reading, we will be reading the Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis.
Children will bring a library book home each week to read for pleasure. In addition you can access books on Curriculum Visions and Reading Plus.
This unit explores the links between events and actions, whilst consolidating prior learning relating to sequencing. We will begin by moving a sprite in four directions (up, down, left and right). Then we will then explore movement within the context of a maze, using design to choose an appropriately sized sprite. This unit also introduces programming extensions, through the use of pen blocks. We are given the opportunity to draw lines with sprites and change the size and colour of lines. The unit concludes with designing and coding our own maze tracing program.
This unit will help us to understand relationships by learning about:
How animal and human bodies change from birth to being fully grown
How our bodies change as we grow up
How baby's develop in the woman's uterus
Why our bodies change as we grow up
Understand ideas about families
