Hello and welcome! My name is Mr. Enoch (E-knock) and I will be teaching 6th grade Language Arts and 6th grade Social Studies this year. I hope you are all as excited as I am to journey across the world as we study some the great ancient civilizations such as the Mayan, Incan, and Aztec empires. We will also discover the rich and vibrant cultures of some of North America's First Nations people. And we also explore some of the main elements of various stories to gain insight into what it takes to not only write a story but to write an exceptional story.

To accomplish this we will interact with the basic themes of geography and historical thinking that will allow us to achieve deep understandings and learning of some of the complex elements of physical and human geography, cultures, and components of what makes a society a civilization.

For my Language Arts students, we will work with the building blocks of what makes great stories exceptional. Elements such as setting, characters, themes, point-of view, and figurative language will be key as we read and break down stories into their important parts so we can gain a better understanding of the impacts stories can have on our lives.
