Biographical Information:

I was raised on St. Simons Island and graduated from Glynn Academy in 1993. I completed 4 wonderful years of college in Athens at the University of Georgia in 1997. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources and Wildlife Biology, as well as a husband (who is from Clarkesville), so we moved to the mountains. I continued my education at North Georgia College and State University where I earned my teaching certificate in Secondary Science in 1998. I decided that school was not so bad and continued on to earn my Master of Arts in Secondary Science Education from Piedmont College in 2000, as well as my Education Specialist Degree in Instruction in 2006. I have been married for 20 wonderful years to Ben Bolton who is also an educator. We have three great children, two girls and a boy, age’s 16 years, 10 years, and 15 years, respectively. When we are not busy parenting, we love to camp, hike, ride bikes, travel, swim, and read (imagine that!). I decided to become a teacher, as my love for the subject of science was not being coupled with my love of children out in the working world. There is no better way to bring these two favorites of mine together as well as teaching can. I love coming to work everyday and would choose no other profession to fill my working day. After teaching at WCHS for 18 years, I am starting my second year as Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction. White County Schools are great!
