Bio:

I hope everyone is ready to have a wonderful school year! I just wanted you to know a little bit about myself. This year will make my 18th year of working as a school nurse, eleven of those years, have been spent right here at MCES! Not only do I take care of your children here at the Creek, I am also the lead nurse for White County School System, coordinating the efforts of all the nurses in the county and attending conferences and updates on school nursing to report back to the other nurses at our schools. I am married and have two adult children, both of whom are WCHS graduates. Along with running the daily aspects of the clinic, I will also be teaching your children several times this year. We will cover numerous different health topics, and these will vary per grade level. Please ask your children what we are talking about throughout the year, and look for my updates in the "nurse news" section of the parent communication letter each month. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at the above phone number or email, and I will do my best to help you. Just a reminder: if your child needs to take daily medications, you will need to bring in those medications and fill out the proper paperwork prior to those being given at school. NO MEDICATIONS will be given without the proper permission forms and having been received in the proper way. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MEDICATION IN YOUR CHILD'S BOOK BAG. (Albuterol inhalers may be placed in your child's book bag as long as they are clearly marked with the child's name, and you have contacted me to let me know and we have made prior arrangements) Please know that this is for the safety of your child, as well as other children. I look forward to working with your children! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have.
