Digital Distance Learning

Digital Distance Learning

White County School System is excited to continue our Digital Distance Learning (DDL) program to students in grades 6-12 for the 2022-23 school year. Students who are successful in online learning must be motivated, organized, self-disciplined, and supported. This program is an extension of our middle and high schools, and acceptance into the program is required. After reviewing the criteria, time commitment, and expectations, interested families should download and complete the application.

About White County Schools

White County Public Charter School System is committed to Knowing, Valuing, and Inspiring Every Child. We are a high performing school system located in Northeast Georgia. We have 7 schools including 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and ninth grade academy, and a high school. All of our elementary schools have been named Georgia High Performing and High Progress Schools by the Georgia Department of Education and the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. Mossy Creek Elementary School was named as one of five schools in state as , “Family Friendly Partnership School.” Mount Yonah Elementary is a National Blue Ribbon School. White County Middle School has been named a Georgia “Breakout School” by the Georgia Secondary School Principals Association. White County High School has been named to the U.S. News and World Report's “Best High Schools in the Nation” list and by the Washington Post’s “Nation’s Most Challenging High Schools”. White County High School was also named , “The Flagship School” for the Georgia Governor’s Go Build Georgia Initiative. Our school system has been name the “Number One Innovative Technology School System in the Nation for Medium Size School Systems” by the Digital Trends Magazine and the National School Boards Association.

White County School System has consistently seen a graduation rate of 95% for all students and 75% for students with special needs. We are among the top 15 school systems in Georgia based on the state College and Career Readiness Index.

White County High School graduates leave our schools and are making major impact on the community, states and nations where they live. White County Public Charter School System has partnered with these students along with their teachers, coaches, and parents to prepare these young people for their next steps. In White County, we are blessed with a wonderful group of teachers, staff and administrators who are actively participating in professional learning, strategic planning, school improvement and the study of student data to ensure we continue to improve student achievement.

We have a supportive community who has supported our E-SPLOST for the construction of new Career, Technology, and Agricultural Education space, high school renovations, and a new ninth grade academy and an auxiliary gym. This is such an exciting time for us.

Our elementary schools have committed to improving reading instruction through the use of a balanced-literacy model which engages our students in guided reading, shared reading, independent reading, word-study and vocabulary development along with guided, shared and independent writing. We are seeing results as our students are becoming better readers and writers.

White County Public Charter School System’s Board of Education is committed to supporting the delivery of a world class educational experience for each and every student. As a system, we will continue to strengthen the use of technology in all of our classrooms and by continuing our Chromebook One-on-One Initiative in all of our schools. We also encourage students to “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) to school as students have the technology available to them at home. We have classroom IPad and Chromebook sets at each school and our teacher use these on a daily basis and will soon be one-on-one k-12. The White County Public Charter School System is committed to the development of personalized learning platforms, blended learning, and the infusion of technology into every White County learning environment. We are continuing to increase rigor as we bring Advanced Placement and dual enrollment opportunities to our high school students.

We are a charter school system which values the input of our parents and community. We share school level governance with all stakeholders together to craft a common vision for our schools and our school system. As a charter system, we are committed to a transparent and continuous school and system improvement process that will prepare our students for success in a global society.

We are a very good school system, but the best is yet to come. Our improvement efforts will continue to require high expectations and a positive climate for success. A culture of success and high expectations is not possible without the support of everyone in our community. This concept only becomes reality when every individual is willing to grow and foster a culture of excellence in education. We depend on all of our stakeholder groups and community partners to strategically move our school system forward during challenging times. Our Board, teachers, staff and administrators, remain committed and focused on providing all of our students with the guidance, leadership and instruction that will prepare them for success in college and careers. We are all “Proud to Be Warriors!”
