Writing @ Home

Please try to get your child to write each day. This could be:

  • writing using the apps/websites/videos links below

  • writing stories or using the ideas below

  • completing the Writing activity that your child's teacher sets on Seesaw

  • looking at the ideas on the digital posters

No device or internet, then try these ideas:

  • writing emails to family members

  • writing lists e.g. shopping, birthday lists, jobs etc

  • writing words and stories with chalk

  • keep a diary of what you do each day

  • cut out letters and make funny messages

  • write words or positive messages using sidewalk paint for your neighbours to read on their walk

  • wanted posters for people/things e.g. pirates, book characters

  • make their own find a word puzzles e.g. crosswords and wordfinds

  • write recipes out

  • find a picture e.g. in a magazine and writing about it

  • make posters

  • write a song or a poem

  • use ideas from the digital posters

  • create daily cartoon strips

  • see how many words you child can write in 10 minutes
