Hello!
I am Mrs. Salmon. I teach Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus and Calculus. This is my first year at WHA (and in Minnesota) and I love it! My husband, baby and I moved here from Washington State earlier this year. I was very lucky to find a home and a math teacher position in Walker.
Prior to becoming a teacher I was an environmental scientist at a consulting firm. My focus was data science: I analyzed air, water, groundwater and soil samples, created mathematical models and built databases. I am grateful for my experience even though I learned that I would rather work directly with people than sit in a cubicle working on a computer.
In my free time I enjoy reading, sewing, hiking, biking, sailing, and kayaking. I enjoy a wide variety of book genres including historical nonfiction, social psychology, and speculative fiction. I truly enjoy math and science and am happiest when I am learning new things!
