Reading Discussions

08/23/18 - Summer vacation is over, but I am excited for a the school year to begin. I didn't get as much reading done as I normally do, but I did challenge myself. I finished It by Stephen King, all 1138 pages of it. Now, that definitely was a challenge for me. Why? First, I am not a Stephen King fan. I've started many of his novels but have only finished 3. Second, that is a big book to carry around and hold. Wow, did my hands get tired. After I finished that book, I finished the last book in the Red Queen series, which was over 600 pages. I may not have read a lot of books, but I still read a lot of pages! Currently, I have started Wonder by RJ Palacio. It's a pretty quick easy read after the other two books, and I LOVE the short chapters!

07/03/2018 - It's summer vacation, but there is no rest. I am taking a class as well as doing what I love to do -- read! I am currently reading two books: It by Stephen King, War Storm by Victoria Aveyard. Yes, I read multiple books at the same time though it is rare that I choose two this long to read simultaneously. I have seen both It movies and decided I would try yet another King novel. I'm not a huge fan of his books, but there have been a few I enjoyed. So far, this book is included. War Storm is the final book in the "Red Queen" series. It is a fantasy as well. I think I have finished my time with these characters, so it has taken me an unusual amount of time to finish this book. Hopefully, both will be done before too long.
