All insurance company employees
With all of the negative press around data breaches, your company is doubling down on computer safety.
Create a short instructional presentation, with a quiz to assess learner ability to identify phishing emails and handle them appropriately. To be used for the HR/Compliance department of a large insurance company. All office workers will have to pass this quiz with an 80% or higher as a part of their continued employment, so the quiz should test user understanding.
Articulate 360
An insurance company has asked that a brief, interactive lesson be created to inform employees of data breaches via phishing scams, and how employees should handle any security breaches.
I discovered that employees were not fully aware of what phishing scams were, and did not understand how to report or protect themselves from scams of this nature.
I created a short, interactive presentation with a knowledge check, then included a 10-question quiz at the end of the lesson. Learners are to earn an 80% or higher per request from HR/Compliance department.
I worked alongside the IT Department to gather information on what learners needed to know, then presented them with a "script" of the information I would be including in the Storyline 360 presentation.
Most learners were able to complete the eLearning course successfully the first time, and all were successful after their second attempts.
This was one of my first experiences using Storyline 360. I tried to incorporate many of the Storyline features not only for my own practice, but also to help learners feel engaged and motivated to work their way through the course.
One of the areas that I struggled with was visual design when it came to creating space within slides and aligning elements so the slide flowed well. It took me several visual iterations to be pleased with the visual design of the eLearning experience. Now I know an area where I can improve, I can be more intentional about my visual design in future projects.
My next goal is to strengthen my skills and become more comfortable using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe XD.
I take a lot of pride in my ability to not only create day to day lessons, but plan a curriculum that is aligned to state standards and on-pace in order to cover all of the material in the allotted time-frame. Below are examples of my year-long plans for multiple levels of math, Spanish, and English Language Arts.
This level of organization of the content, and alignment to standards would allow for clients, stakeholders, and SMEs to see the instructional timeline clearly laid out.
This slide deck is used almost daily in my math classroom. My learners and I appreciate the simple format and knowing exactly what tasks should be undertaken throughout class. I could see this being modified in the corporate world to be used for breakout sessions when covering a lot of dense information. Participants would have the opportunity to practice, apply, and discuss the skill and/or information being covered.
Our PTO wanted some posters for teacher's doors and for around the school during Teacher Appreciation Week. I designed these cute, cheesy posters on CANVA. I love how anyone can feel like an artist when using CANVA!
