Computer Game Club
Students are given a chance to socialize with friends while playing computer games.

Girls who Code
Students will learn the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals, and functions that form the basis for all programming languages — whether they want to build a website, an app, or a robot. Club girls join a safe and supportive environment of peers & role models and learn to see themselves as computer scientists.

Learners will write, record and edit the content for our YouTube Channel, including Daily news reports, Weekly programs, and develop other ideas for the channel.

Learners will produce and curate stories, photos, videos, blogpost, podcasts and more for the Hixson website and associated social media accounts.

Robotics Club
Robotics Club offers students the opportunity to get hands-on experience engineering and programming robots. This club uses LEGO MINDStorm robots paired with a computer coding software to program the movement of the robots. Students will learn how to program and build a robot to solve a problem. Students can also design and build challenges for their robots to solve and join teams within the club for some friendly competition.

Stock Market Club
Students will invest an imaginary $100,000 into the stock market via the computer to see who earns the most money each semester. Students will play against other middle schools in this region.

Time with Screens!
The library will be open for anyone wanting to use the TV Screens for game play, group work, or individual work. You can come in a group or by yourself, we will also be exploring new Apps in the Chrome store each session.
