The goal of Wake Forest Emergency Medical Services is to provide BLS first response to calls for emergency assistance in the Wake Forest University community. Additionally, WFEMS aims to prevent illness and injury in the Wake Forest community by providing education and community outreach to students, staff, and faculty. WFEMS provides these services throughout the academic year and works closely with the Winston-Salem Fire Department, Forsyth County Emergency Services, Wake Forest Deacon Health, and other emergency medical resources within the response area.
WFEMS is a student-run organization that maintains membership of about 50-60 EMT or EMR certified members. We provide 24/7 BLS coverage to the Wake Forest campus and surrounding Wake Forest University properties. We foster ongoing training opportunities for members to enhance their basic life support skills.
