Participation and Presentation: 20%
Weekly Written Homework Sets: 20%
Weekly Quizzes: 15%
Test Average (3 tests): 35%
Final Project: 10%
Numerical cutoffs for an A, B, C, D, or F (with appropriate +/-) are at the discretion of the instructor, but will not be more strict than a standard 10 point scale; e.g., 90+ is A- or better, 80-89 is B- or better, 70-79 is C- or better, 60-69 is D- or better, etc. The general rule is: A is excellent work, B is good work, and C is average work.

Per above, 20% of the final grade lives in this category. However, Participation & Presentation will be further subdivided as follows.
Mathematical Content Portion of Participation & Presentation: 10%
complete daily homework/mathematical tasks to prepare for class, and
student presentations of homework/mathematical tasks in class.
Character Development Portion of Participation & Presentation:
weekly journal reflections on readings from the Su book, Mathematics for Human Flourishing. 5%
weekly participation on the Canvas discussion board regarding a virtue/avenue for human flourishing (usually inspired by tasks in class and/or the Su book). 5%
