This class is an undergraduate technical elective taught in the Department of Engineering at Wake Forest University. The primary goal of the course is to learn to use observational data to make inferences about physical processes or phenomena. We introduce students to handling large data sets in a variety of formats, employ statistcal methods to make predictions about model parameters, and introduce students to Bayesian ways of thinking. Students also improve computational modeling skills.
