Internship mentor-supervisors have six primary responsibilities:
Participate in one time, 3-hour online training program;
Provide the student with opportunities to work and exercise leadership in the internship setting, for a minimum of 300 hours over the course of the summer or academic year;
Work with the student at the beginning of the summer or academic year to create a Learning Plan that outlines the student's roles and responsibilities, and then using that to supervise the student's work;
Meet with the student for an hour each week to facilitate reflection on the student’s internship work;
Write an internship evaluation at the end of the summer or fall and spring semesters.
Provide a stipend of $4500 to support the student's internship work (300 hours at $15 per hour). Students may negotiate that rate with their internship settings if, for example, a setting cannot provide a stipend at that rate, and the student feels that they do not need it. Students may also opt to waive the stipend requirement altogether.
New ministry settings that would like to participate in the internship program should complete an Internship Setting Application at the link here.
