I live in Winston-Salem with my wife and two children. In this photo, we're on the way to the beach via the Bald Head Island Ferry in Summer 2019. My wife, Dr. Kate Allman, is also a PhD (in Education) specializing in teacher training and literacy. She is currently the Executive Director of Winston-Salem Teach and has affliliated appointments in WFU's Department of Education, WSSU's Department of Education, and in WFU's Program for Leadership and Character.
When I'm not teaching or doing mathematics, I enjoy being a dog dad, playing music (guitar, drums, and piano in monotone decreasing order of skill), playing and rehabilitating retro video game consoles and cartridges (especially NES, SNES, & Game Boy), solving the NY Times Crossword + Spelling Bee, and my brand new* hobby of being frustrated playing golf. The photo above depicts me with our sheep-a-doodle, Penny.
