This week, we will be creating our own songs in the Google Chrome Music Lab. (FlipGrid will be set up later this week!)

You will create a drum beat on the bottom row using circles as the bass drum and the triangle as the snare drum. The multiple colors that form on the top can create melody (the main part of a song) or harmony by playing multiple notes at the same time. If you create a tower, it will sound like harmony. If you create a line, whether it goes up and down like a roller coaster or straight like a path, it will sound like a melody. Together, it will sound like a song! You can also change the tempo, or speed of the beat, to change how it sounds all together.

Create a song in the Music Lab, and click the save button on the bottom right. Copy the link and submit it on the Google Form to the left. Have a great week!

A podcast is a digital audio file made available on the Internet for downloading to a computer or mobile device, typically available as a series, new installments of which can be received by subscribers automatically. You usually hear someone talking about a certain topic. This week, you will get to send me a podcast of your own!

Do you want to talk about a song? Do you want to talk about a musical artist or band? Do you want to tell me about a show you went to? Pick a musical topic to talk about, record yourself talking about it, and send it to me!

Use a recording device found on your phone (Voice Recorder, Voice Memo, etc.) and send it to grode@wfsd.k12.ny.us so I can hear your podcast!

You could make a drum, a guitar, jingle bells, castanets, a handheld harp, a xylophone, or a pan flute! With your parents, please pick an instrument you would like to create. Take a picture and send it to my email grode@wfsd.k12.ny.us
