Reading

You each have your own reading account! I will be assigning articles for you to read using the website, ReadWorks. Follow the instructions below to log on. When you log on, you will see what assignments I have sent you. You can read the article yourself or select it to be read aloud to you. After you read the article, please complete the questions. I will be able to see your work and give you a grade for each assignment. I will assign you 5 articles per week. You can complete one per day. If you would like to complete more than one each day, that is okay too.

4. Type in your password: 1234

All passwords are 1234 right now. You will have the option to change your password. If you change your password, WRITE IT DOWN! If you forget it, I will not be able to reset it and you may lose your work.

The Making of a Cloud | PBS LearningMediaLearn why clouds are critical to Earth's climate system and explore how they form, in this video from NOVA's Cloud Lab. Visualizations show how the Sun warms Earth's surface, driving the water cycle. The processes of evaporation and transpiration transport water from Earth's surface into the atmosphere as water vapor. As air rises and cools, the relative humidity increases. If it reaches a state called supersaturation, water vapor changes from gas to liquid, forming water droplets or ice crystals around dust and other particles, creating a cloud. When the water droplets become large enough, they fall back to Earth's surface as precipitation. This video is available in both English and Spanish audio, along with corresponding closed captions.
