To become "college ready" in the state of Texas you have 3 ways to accomplish this; ACT, SAT, or TSI. Below is information about all 3 tests including sites for free study help and practice tests.

Scores sent to colleges/universities at no cost.

College Ready Scores
ELAR: CRC ≥ 945, and Essay ≥ 5; or CRC from 910 to 944 with a Diagnostic Level of 5 or 6 and Essay ≥ 5
Math: CRC ≥ 950; or
CRC from 910 to 949 with a Diagnostic Level of at least 6

Juniors: PSAT NMSQT $20 OR FREE if FRL or 4.0 GPA Tuesday, October 24th
Juniors: PSAT NMSQT Day 2 $20 OR FREE if FRL or 4.0 GPA Wednesday October 25th
Seniors: SAT SCHOOL DAY No Cost Thursday, October 26th
Freshmen: PSAT 8/9 SCHOOL DAY $20 Tuesday, March 5th
Sophomores: PSAT 10 SCHOOL DAY $20 Thursday, March 7th
Juniors: SAT SCHOOL DAY No Cost Wednesday, March 20th
