About the program

Cosmetology consists of Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. 

At a Sophomore level, you will mainly focus on text book materials. At a Junior level, your will work with both text book materials and hands on, to develop skills to better prepare you for your Senior year. At Senior level you will do minimal book work, and a lot of hands on training to prepare you for both your Written and Practical Exams.

The Cosmetology program consists of 1,000 hours, to complete these hours you MUST be in your uniform to clock in and out. As a Sophomore you should have a minimum of 110 hours, as a Junior, you should have a minimal of 530 hours, and as a Senior, you should complete your 1,000 hours by April. 

At 900 hours, you will be able to take your Written Exam portion of your tests. You must pass your Written Exam, and complete your 1,000 hours to take your Practical Exam. Once passing both your Written, and Practical exam, you will receive your Cosmetology License. 

During Cosmetology, our main focus is learning the fundamentals, we will learn the fundamentals of Hair styling, Hair cutting, Hair coloring, Manicures, Pedicures, Facials, and Face Waxing services. You will be required to participate in each service. 

We have public service days for our Senior students to practice hands on skills learned during class on clients. During these days, you WILL be required to complete each service requested by your client.
